EffiMat’s automated storage and picking system was deployed in the expanded warehouse facility serving Billund Airport’s duty-free operations. Two EffiMat systems were installed inside a new storage facility adjacent to the terminal, optimising vertical space utilisation and integrating directly with the duty-free shop’s internal logistics. The system interfaces with the airport’s ERP, automatically tracking inventory when an item is purchased and triggering automated replenishment to maintain stock levels at the retail location. This has significantly increased picking productivity, reduced manual warehouse transport, and improved responsiveness to retail demand within the airport environment.
