Smiths Detection is a global leader in threat detection and screening technologies with over 70 years of experience, designing and manufacturing X-ray, CT, millimeter-wave, and trace detection systems to identify explosives, weapons, narcotics, contraband, and CBRN threats across aviation, ports & borders, urban security, and defense sectors, serving 47 of the world's 50 busiest airports to protect people, infrastructure, and trade. Smiths Detection provides explosives detection systems (EDS) and scanners integrated into airport baggage handling systems (BHS) for automated screening of checked baggage, cabin bags, air cargo, and parcels at checkpoints and hold areas ensuring ECAC/TSA compliance with high throughput but does not handle physical transport or sorting.
